Mickey Kearney
Assassinated by IPLO on 18 February 1987

Michael "Mickey" Kearney, aged 33 and father of five, was ambushed by the IPLO as he slipped out of hiding to visit his wife and children in Ballymurphy, west Belfast.

Like other victims of the IPLO, he had just been released from prison before Christmas, having had charges against him withdrawn when the appeals judge rejected the testimony against him by a police informer. He had found himself placed on an IPLO hit list.
